FeatureCAM is CAD/CAM software that utilizes feature-based /
knowledge-based technology. Feature-based technology gives users the
power to dramatically increase productivity!
With traditional CAM software, users are required to program operations
one at a time, determine speeds/feeds, and select tools. With FeatureCAM,
parts are created by identifying components as features, such as tapped
holes, pockets, multi-surface milling, grooves, etc. FeatureCAM
automatically selects tools, calculates optimum speeds/feeds, generates
toolpaths and NC code, and provides simulations. With all this automation,
users still have the control to customize each part program to meet
unique needs.
