In 1999 Blizzard published the Warcraft II: Battle.net Edition for Windows and 
Mac, which combined the original game and the expansion pack, retained the 
Macintosh facilities and replaced the DOS version with a Windows version that 
included play by TCP/IP, and provided Blizzard's online service, Battle.net, for 
multiplayer games. After considering new content, Blizzards preferred to make it 
easy for new and older fans to play each other. Battle.net Edition included some 
user interface enhancements from Starcraft û a hot key to center on events, 
assigning numbers to groups of units, and double-clicking to select all units of 
a type. However they excluded production queues and waypoints.

Warcraft II: Battle.net Edition contains both Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness
and it's expansion Beyond the Dark Portal updated for windows with some feature
enhancements.
Battle.net play isn't available with this without a retail key. The easiest
way to play this multiplayer would be to use zero-configuration virtual private
network software like Hamachi.

To Install:
1. Mount or burn and install 
2. Apply the v2.02 patch
3. If experiencing the color bug on Win 7/Vista:
   A. Right click on blank section of desktop and select screen resolution.
      Leave this window open while running game. This works for some hardware.
   B. Or place the batch file I included Warcraft.II.Color.Fix.Launcher.bat
      in the game folder and use it to launch the game.
